$3.7 million is donor designated to other organizations.
$0.2 million is allocated to Tangipahoa Parish agencies.

Who decides where the money goes?

Volunteers will spend more than 12,000 hours to ensure donated dollars directly help to solve critical problems in our community. This fund distribution process involves more than 80 local citizens from all walks of life, ethnic backgrounds and communities throughout the Greater New Orleans Area.

In addition to the $15.1 million to the agencies, United Way budgets the following:

$3.1 million was used in 2002 from the fall 2001 campaign results to cover costs of raising, collecting and distributing funds and for measuring agency outcomes for United Way and Combined Federal campaigns within Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes.*

$1.6 million was the amount set aside to cover losses to the campaign from reductions to the workforce and employee relocations.

* Operating expenses are underwritten by the Cornerstone Companies. No other donor pledges are used for these items.
