"To increase the organized capacity of people to be independent and self-sufficient."

Our Vision:
"To position the United Way 'system' in an effort to strengthen the
community's ability to impact its own problems."

Core Value:
The United Way is a delicately balanced ‘system’ of donors’ desires, volunteers’ values and agencies’ operations focused on clients’ needs.

United Way’s primary focus is on long term hurricane recovery. We are providing a coordinated response to Katrina and Rita so we can have a healthy quality of life, a strong workforce and brighter economic future for our six-parish
area.

It’s no longer business as usual when it comes to funding our more than 80 programs. United Way has taken a more ‘hands on’ approach and moved to a grant process, open to all health and human service providers.
